2 cups Maida
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
5 tbsp chilled butter, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 tbsp sugar
1. Preheat oven to 220 degree C
Mix maida , baking powder, and salt in a large bowl, mix chilled butter until mixture looks like bread crumbs. Chill 10 minutes.
Mix buttermilk, Cheese and sugar, Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture; stir(do not mix too much)
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly 4 times, gently roll to a 3/4-inch thickness. Cut the biscuits with cutter or knife and place them on grease baking tray. Bake at 220 for 12 minutes or until golden. Remove from pan; cool 2 minutes.
Brush the top with butter.
