Last week Chef Yotam was guest in Masterchef Australia. And one of the group task was preparing vegetarian feast for hardcore meat eaters. In what caught my fancy was Sweet potato chips made by Michelle. Since the time i saw those beauties i want to make them too.
Though she had deep fried it, I decided to use my trusty Air fryer. And with 10 minutes i had bowl of crispy sweet potato chips ready to munch.
They looks so good that i did not even bother to make any dip to go along with it. And frankly they were so flavorful that there was no need for any dip.
With just couple of teaspoons of oil and few seasonings, it tasted yumm.
Ingredients:
1 big sweet potato
2 tbsp of olive oil
1 tsp of minced garlic
1/2 tsp of mix herb
1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
Salt to taste
Method:
Wash and scrub the sweet potato well. Remove all the grits and soil from the skin.
In a bowl mix all the seasoning in olive oil and keep it aside
With help of food processor or mandolin make thin slices of sweet potato. Immediately drizzle the flavored oil and mix well. Each slice of sweet potato should be coated with oil.
Preheat the air fryer at 200 deg for at least 10 minutes. Put few slice of chips in the basket but don’t over crowd the basket.
Air fry them at 180 degree for at 4-6 minutes. In between after ever 2 minutes shake the basket, so it cooks evenly.
When you remove it will look little soft but once it cools down a bit it will crisp up.
There are few more recipes for chips by my fellow blogger
Serve with any dip of your choice or munch away as it is.. like me 😃
Loved it totally!! The air frying makes it guilt free.
