Creamy Delicious Firni

If you looking for some more dessert besides Sheer kurma for you Eid Al-Fitr celebrations than why not make some creamy delicious Firni that you can prepare and keep a day ahead and serve it chilled.

Made with simple ingredients which are available any desi kitchen, like milk, rice, sugar and flavoured with cardamom and saffron. The ingredients are very much similar to Rice Kheer but in Firni the rice is soaked and grinder into a smooth paste before adding it to boiling milk to cook. Which gives totally different texture to the dessert.

Keep it original with just cream rice and sugar or jazz it up with additional flavours like mango, chocolate or any fresh berries. Options are endless.

If you are looking for vegan, diary- free option you always substitute milk and cream with Almond milk or Cashew milk

INGREDIENTS:

1 liter full cream milk

80 gms basmati rice

1 tbsp ghee

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 tin condensed milk

1 tsp cardamom powder

1 tbs kewra water

2 tbsp of sliced almonds

2 tbsp of blanched pista.

Dry rose petals

Sliver warq for garnish

METHOD

Wash nd soak rice for an hour. Drain the water from rice and grind it into a smooth paste.

In heavy bottom pan add tbsp of ghee and cardamom powder and with 30 seconds add milk
Once the milk starts to boil, add rice paste ,stirring continuously while pouring so that lumps are not formed.

Keep on stirring till rice cook well over medium flame. Gradually the milk will start to thicken.

Now add sugar, condensed milk and half of the dry fruits

Cook for 8-10 minutes.

Add kewra water and pour it into the serving bowls. Normally firni is served in earthern bowls. Sprinkle with sliced pistachio and almonds. Gently place the sliver warq and rose petals.

Keep in fridge for 1 hour. enjoy your Frini chilled.
