Smashed Chickpea Sandwich

Easy and Delicious Chickpea Sandwich

The healthy and delicious way to use up your chickpea chaat, turn it into a smashed chickpea sandwich.

Easy and perfect sandwich filling to make ahead of time.

It will be a big hit for the lunchbox, just add a few slices of tomato, onion, cucumber, and onion you have a completely balanced meal.

The recipe is vvery versatile you add whatever ingredients (avocado, eggs, shredded carrot, cheese) you have in add and make it into your personal recipe.

Vegan and healthy

2 cups cooked chick peas
2 chopped Onions
1 tomato chopped
2 Green chili
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
1/2 lemon
2 tbsp Chili garlic sauce
1 tsp hot sauce
1 tsp Achar masala
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp Chaat masala
Salt to taste.


In a wok heat oil over medium heat and add Cumin seeds and let it crackle for a minute. Add finely chopped onion and hing. Sauté for another ther minute add crushed garlic and cook for 2 minutes l.
Add all dry spices and roast them for a minute then add chopped tomato and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Add boiled chickpeas and stir well an then add hot sauce sauce, chili garlic sauce and achar masala and mix well. If required add 1/4 cup water. Let it cool until all the masala and sauce coats the chickpeas.
Add salt and squeeze half a lemon and mix well. Sprinkle chopped coriander leave and stir.

To make sandwich, Spread one side of each bread slice with mayonnaise, place lettuce leaves then top withsome of the chickpea salad, onion, cucumber and tomatoes. Close sandwiches and serve
